Our most recent project was the year-long development of a Java desktop application for Stanford University.

The cross-platform app was developed using the Swing Application Framework, Axis, Apple's Quicktime for Java, LDAP, Kerberos, Oracle, and a lot of hand wrangled Java code to integrate it with Sakai.

This app happens to pull Quicktime content from Sakai, Play it in an assessment framework, and record Quicktime movies as responses. All this takes place w/in the Sakai Course / Site / Section metaphors, with extra waxy security requirements on all sides.
